For as long as history has been written, the world has been ruled by the samurai clans of New Earth. The Samurai have always regulated how the world is run under their iron fist government, controlling all the resources, markets, and the laws which benefit them. They govern over the people, and though their rule is very tyrannical, the world has been at peace because of how things are run. Within their blades, the Samurai poses a powerful magic that can only be controlled by those of the royal blood, their fearsome supremacy has lead to the end of all wars, and prosperity ensues over the planet… except for a select few.

Away from the cities, and outside of the samurai rule sits two hidden villages that show no respect for the samurai or to each other for that matter: The Hidden Village of Higashi and The Hidden Village of Nishi. Though lacking the great power the Samurai possess, this warriors known as ninja fight without swords, using stealth and trickery to win their battles. Mastering their own abilities of Ninjutsu, they have been able to summon magic of their own without the use of a sword, and due to the constant warring amongst both hidden villages, many of the samurai’s people have been slaughtered in the collateral damage from the endless war of the ninja.

After countless millennia of the unending battles, the Samurai held a council to discuss the problems that the ninja bring, and how they should be dealt with. After much deliberation, it was decided that if one of the ninja villages were to eradicate the other, peace would return to the world, and the samurai would form a treaty with the remaining village. The plan to end all wars went through as messengers were sent to contact the hidden villages. Each village was offered a plausible contract. The main clause of each contract requested that the ninja villages hasten their war efforts against each other to reach a conclusion on which village was stronger. The village that showed more power would gain the aid of the powerful Samurai to diminish the weaker village allowing them to live prosperously outside of the Samurai’s law and without a foe.

This was the beginning of the Great Ninja War.
